WebKit now includes support for gradients specified in CSS. The syntax looks a bit confusing for us designerly types, but massive kudos to the WebKit team for continuing to embrace the "browser wars" mentality, offering exciting new toys for designers and developers to play with, while at the same time maintaing interoperability with other browsers. Now, if we could just get Opera, Mozilla, and Microsoft on board, we'd probably see some fast and furious innovation in the CSS arena. Saved By: Jeff Croft | View Details | Give Thanks

I continue to loves me some WebKit. These guys are the designer's best friend -- they are really focusing on implementing the parts of CSS that really matter to designers, which is awesome (unless, of course, you're a JavaScript programmer). :) Saved By: Jeff Croft | View Details | Give Thanks

Developers can create Web 2.0 applications that look and behave just like the applications built into iPhone, and provide seamless integration with iPhone applications and services including making a phone call, sending an email, and displaying a location in Google Maps. Third-party applications created using web standards can extend iPhone's capabilities without compromising its reliability or security.

Gmail Browser is a web browser that is dedicated to running Gmail (and Google calendar). Why? Well, for me, reading email is usually a work activity, while web browsing is mostly play. And so, when I check my email, I easily get distracted by other web sites. Separating Gmail from the rest of the internet helps me concentrate. Gmail Browser is an enhanced version of an idea I saw here. Gmail Browser deals correctly with adding and downloading attachments, and can handle 'mailto' links. It also has a nice-ish icon.
